Mwanza, Tanzania’s second largest city, produces 357 tonnes of solid waste daily. With a struggling waste management system, the city faces urgent challenges to keep up with its rapid growth and ensure a healthy environment for its residents.
The biowaste audit dashboard visualizes how commercial entities working in the capital city of North Macedonia – Skopje, particularly in the HORECA (Hotels, Restaurants and Catering) sector, and not limited to that group, are producing biowaste. The dashboard is a snapshot experiment that aims to highlight how visualized data from the biowaste audit can showcase potential opportunities for businesses working with biowaste transformation and biotechnologies.
Bhutan’s location in a geologically active region makes it highly vulnerable to climate variability and extreme weather events. Based on previous studies identifying vulnerability disparities across population groups, Bhutan embarks on a socio-economic impact assessment to further explore the impact of climate change to inform its national adaptation planning.
