Overview
This database on key national policies and strategies that are contributing to a Healthy Planet (e.g. NDCs, NBSAPS etc.) was prepared as part of the S+50 national consultation process by UNDP Country Offices.
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list but is submitted through UNDP country offices in consultation with government partners and may be subject to further edits. If any information is missing and needs to be added, please contact your UNDP national Stockholm+50 focal point.
About Stockholm+50
In May 2021, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution to bring the global environmental community together in Stockholm, Sweden for a major international environmental meeting on June 2 and 3 2022, the week of World Environment Day.
“Stockholm+50: a healthy planet for the prosperity of all – our responsibility, our opportunity” (Stockholm+50) took place five decades after the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment. The event provided leaders with an opportunity to draw on 50 years of multilateral environmental action to achieve the bold and urgent action needed to secure a better future on a healthy planet.
By recognizing the importance of multilateralism in tackling the Earth’s triple planetary crisis – climate, nature, and pollution – the event sought to act as a springboard accelerate the implementation of the UN Decade of Action to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals, including the 2030 Agenda, Paris Agreement on climate change, the post-2020 global Biodiversity Framework, and encourage the adoption of green post-COVID-19 recovery plans.
The meeting also reinforced the messages and the outcomes of the event to commemorate UNEP’s 50th anniversary (UNEP@50), which took place in March 2022, in Nairobi. Stockholm+50 was convened by the United Nations and hosted by the Government of Sweden with support from the Government of Kenya.

In preparation for the global meeting, UNDP has been asked to facilitate national consultations using resources provided by the Government of Sweden and leveraging existing in-country programming and partnerships including through its support to Nationally Determined Contributions processes (e.g., UNDP’s Climate Promise) and broader work on Nature, Climate, Energy, and other integrated SDG themes. The objective of the national consultations was to stimulate an inclusive whole-of-society and whole-of-government dialogue on the main themes of Stockhom+50 as they relate to each national context.
A preparatory research and data mapping was conducted with the support of country offices to collect information and links to NDCs, NAPS, NBSAPs, Green Economy/Green Recovery, SDGs, INFFS, and other national and sectoral policy frameworks. This dashboard presents data on national policies, strategies, and relevant datasets collected and reported by UNDP country office focal points and Stockholm+50 national coordinators between January and April 2022.
